I've been chasing FPR, AFM, grounds, fuel filter/ pump, thermo sensors, speed/ ref sensors. Guess what cause eng hesitate/ sluggish (barely run), backfire- under charging alternator; 10v.

That's right- eng always started/ run for last couple month so I never suspect charging sys. I guess Motronic doesn't get the 12v needed to run properly. It's been running on 10 V batt.

QUESTION: bench tested alt at a shop and it's good- 12v+. Check all ground/ coonection to batt but installed on car and reading only 9v or less output at alt/ batt. Where else do I check???? TIA.

Peter

A good alternator should be able to put out 13.5+ volts at 30 amps or so. If your alternator doesn't put out at least that voltage under lighter loads (when properly hooked up and grounded), you may have a bad regulator, brushes, or diodes.
