Am I glad I stumbled upon this thread. I am wrestling with what shocks and or springs to get for my 83 Euro 635. Bils, Konis, springs, whatever? I was having one hell of a time figuring out what was the best way to go.

Unless I can confirm (measure the static height of the car) that I need new springs (German steel) I am going to go with the Bilsteins. A friend just put on the Bil sport and HR springs. I love the way it handles but it is a bit too stiff for me for everyday driving.

Lastly, I must confess that I did put on a set of shocks from Sears 6 months ago and I can tell you that they are crap. Makes my 6er ride like a cadillac (well, it still handles better than a caddy).

Anyway, thank you all for your conversations. Nothing like a good discussion to help flesh out enough information to make an informed decison. If you read all the literature they all say that theirs is the best. YOu just can't fully trust someone with a vested interest. None of you work for Bilstein do you?
