does a big throttle body improve performance? is it worth upgrading? TIA

I custom machined my throttle body .100" larger than stock (made a new butterfly and removed half of the throttle shaft to boot on my euro 81' 3.5 liter 220hp motor running programable SDS-EM2D fuel injection).

Did a series of 20 g-tech runs before and after this mod --turns out there was no significant difference in acceleration or HP figures (.1-.2 sec quicker in the 1/4 mile??) . and if anything it felt like I might have lost a little low end torque in exchange for 2-3hp upper end gain??.....

Take my advice and don't do it.... even if you can machine it yourself. I think BMW's engineers did a good job designing the throttle body to work with the intake manifold and you will upset the intake air velocity by going to a larger throttle body.
