getting euro spec hp out of a 1986 car downunder (archive)

hi guys
i just have become the proud owner of a 1986 635 as well as my 1980 euro. how do i get the same hp as my old euro.can i exchange the pipes and do away with the cat? will that restore some of that missing 30 hp.what about a chip? . anybody know what engine mods were doneo convert it to unleaded gas. i heard it might be the camshaft? lower comp pistions?i just want that old kick in the pants feel . help me please paul
