Larry is right on when he says other things have to be "tuned" sometimes to match the new characteristics of the exhaust system.
You wont find back pressure on a F1 car (Did you friend build the engine dust covers?)
The M30 engine doesn’t like back pressure and with the metronic running properly will automatically compensate showing power increases right across the rev range as does the BMW baby six.
Any well designed engine (pump) will do the same.
