ABS Light stays on (archive)

My ABS dash light stays on all the time indicating that my ABS is not working (its not). Is this something I can diagnose myself or am I looking at a trip to the shop for this one? Ive been told it might be the relays at the pump unit, is there a way to check this?

Any help would be appreciated.
