In Reply to: Need Model # of Front Speaker Replacement & Subs? posted by Pete Bartusek on August 25, 2000 at 08:24:02:

I'm replacing the front speakers on my '83 633csi, but Crutchfield doesn't have anything that they (think) will fit. The rears were not a problem - there were two options from Blaupunkt and two from Kenwood...

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I'd like to get model numbers of 4x6"'s that have worked in the front so I can track those down, rather than play "Lets try these, I'll let you know" with Crutchfield or some other place for the next few weeks...:)

Anyone had any experience with bass boxes in the back? I'm not looking for some kind of 'thumping car', but wanted to put a small box of somesort in the back just to get some extra bass without cutting the car up.

Thanks!
Pete

I put a 10" woofer box in the trunk behind the back seat and it gives plenty of bass without
thumping the car. It also fits nicely under the rear deck in the trunk without taking up too
much room. I put 4 x 6 Boston Acoustic speakers
in both the front and rear, so I didn't have to
cut any new holes or change the rear compartment
exterior.
