hi, jimmyC:

this board is prolly the best source for technical info on the 6. Big_coupe_group is another topnotch source for do-it-yourself-ers. But for a great, overall primer on the 6, you might want to pickup the 6 Series Enthusiasts' Companion. it will tell you all you will ever want to know about the 6 species (see the gateway to this message board or amazon.com for purchase info). in my view, the looks, character and performance of a 6 cannot be duplicated -- no matter how much money you spend. indeed, they threw away the mold when they were done making the last 6 a decade ago. that's what sets it apart from the 3s, 5s and 7s. in any case, happy hunting for the 6 that suits you.

I am thinking about purchasing a "635 CSi". I have no history with BMW, just have always felt the 635 was one of the best looking cars ever made. I have a late model Nissan 300ZX that I am going to paint, do some engine work on, etc. Thought this might be a time to consider buying a 635 to use as an occasional driver. I have a truck to drive for bad weather so both cars would be fair weather cars. Is there a site or book that anyone would suggest to get me started in understand the different variations of the 635 available. Not sure what model are best, or even the last year they were manufactured. Some pointers please.
