About lights that don't work when you soldered in the new ones: I think the board that holds the light bulbs is a printed circuit board; it's possible that the heat from soldering new bulbs melted a connection on the board? If you want to, the part is about 20 bucks, and you can slip it in as easy as you took the old one out - whish is what I want to do, but I can't get the OBC out to even do that.
TIA to all,
James
The light in the OBC has gone, but it works since you see it if you glare at it up close. I took the OBC out of the dash, removed the bulb assembly from the side (white plastic thing), with 2 bulbs welded to it. I soldered two new 1.2W 12v bulbs, but no light. I was wondering if someone would know why this doesn't work. Is the wattage/volt different? do I need to buy the whole bulb assembly, or is there something else that I am missing.
