89 Brake light on after start & then off if.....? (archive)

The brake warning light flashes after start and then clears if brakes are applied to my '89 635csi. Also, if brakes are applied while starting the car, the warning light stays on until the car is shut off and started again. Then apply the brakes to clear the warning light. Sorry, I sure this has been covered before, but I didn't see it in the previous questions. Thanks, Da Cogg.
