The price is a bit high, unless the seller is the original owner and has all service/maintenance records from new. It is critical on these engines that the coolant is changed at the proper intervals, as the passages in the head tend to corrode shut, which causes hot running/overheating. Any prospective purchase should be thoroughly inspected by a shop that specializes in BMWs. I don't know about in Cali, but here on the east coast, there are a lot of 6ers around for a wide range of prices, and $8000 will buy one at the nicer end of the scale, with closer to 100,000 miles than 150,000. Just my .02 worth. Good Luck, they are beautiful cars.
