Floss or an equivalent thin string/wire is a safe bet. Your spoiler should also be attached to the trunk lid with four M6 studs & nuts; the nuts are accessible by removing the vinyl coverings on the underside of the lid.

Holes in the rubber can be repaired using a black caulking compound. 3M makes a windshield sealant that would work great.

Lexol's Vinylex will help rejuvenate your spoiler's appearance.
