Dump the K&N, the filtering is not very good. Look for oiled foam filters, they really do work well. ITS is one brand, they are very good but I don't know if they make them for the injected cars. Top End Performance has them - www.racetep.com

Jim C. did some studies which were very conclusive. I think he has something about it on the Bonneville Motor Werks web site (http://www.bonnevillemotorwerks.com/). If not, it's in the old BMW Digest archives.

He engineers ships too, you can get them froim Turner.
