About a month ago, the fuel gauge, tempurature gauge and tachometer on my 1981 633 CSi all quit simultaneously one afternoon. The problem turned out to be a bad electrical connection in the fuse box.

I guessed that such problems could be exacerbated by the lack of a fuse box cover, so I ordered one from BMW at a cost of something like $16.00 and installed it.

Yesterday afternoon, my air condition quit unexpectedly. I had driven the car down to our plant around 2:00 PM and the A/C worked fine. At 5:00 PM, when I started the car for the short drive home, the A/C would not function at all.

This morning, I pulled, then re-inserted the A/C fuse. Now the A/C works again.

I don't know which of the BMW engineers invented the BMW 6er fuse configuration, but poor electrical connections at fuses are becoming my number one problem!

This message is being posted in the hope that other owners might avoid a costly trip to the dealer when problems like mine can be solved by simply removing and re-installing (cleaning the connections at) a fuse.

1981 633 CSi
