I had a weird problem occur Friday on my '87 635csi while driving on the thruway. I was getting off at an exit and was running hard in one of the cloverleaf turns when all of a suden I lost power completely, no response to the pedal.
I pulled over at the top of the bridge and it fired right up and I went on my way. I noticed I was on about an 1/8th of tank of gas, so I thought maybe I was low on fuel in the turn.
I filled the car up today and went back to the same spot and made the fast run again. I was able to duplicate the problem.
I also had the car just stop at light a few days ago, as if you turned the key off. It again just fired up and on my way!
The car idles perfectly and starts every time. I have been running it hard and in a straight line, no problem. These two 360 turns are the only time it has happened.
Do I have a fuel pump problem starting up???
Any other ideas??

TIA,
