Disconnect the fuel lead at the motor. Disconnect the ignition coil so the motor won't get a spark. What you will do next is have a container to receive fuel from the fuel line and crank the motor or have an assistant do this for you. If fuel squirts from the line the pump is working and delivering fuel to the motor.
This is a receipe for disaster so be careful and mindfull of what your doing. Don't smoke etc. and don't cross any wires at your coil or point the fuel line at any of said lines. If you're carefull there is nothing to fear and it's a 5min check.
First check the fuse for the pump.
My 80' 635 euro, is turning but does not start....so far i have done

1. replace rotor and distributor cap.
2. checked fuel lines for leaks...'none'
3. wires are fireing.....at dist cap

i changed the fuel lines from the pump to the filter could
air have gotten in the line....it turns as if it is out of gas...it turns like it wants to start them sputters..one friend said it may be the timing is off...."another says it
might not be getting any gas. How can I check either of these.....
