Secret recall on 86/87 M30 Valve Retaining Springs (archive)

Does anyone know about a secret recall on the valve retaining springs on the M30 engine? A re-cycled BM parts contact advised me of this recall and also to get mine checked. He said his company gets a lot of rebuilt engine sales business because the recall was secret and the valve got suckd into the engine. This guy has repeatedly saved me money with his advice so I trust him.
