smaller tires, Spedometer off, Simple fix??? (archive)

Hi Folks!

I just got new rims and tires. I changed from 235/40/18s to 225/45/17s and now the spedo is inaccurate. Is there an electronic fix to this or do I need a new gear in the tranny (or on the cable)?
