Don't mess with the M6 tranny or Getrag 280 its junk. The M^ tranny has bigger gears. Get a Getrag 265 sport. Go to www.metricmechanic.com there you will find everything you need to know.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the M6 standard transmission and the regular transmissions that go on other sixer's? I've got to get into my transmission (bad input bearing and synchros) and I want to know what to look out for. I'll be working from a Bentley 5 series manual which doesn't really cover this transmission.
