I have an '87 model year NA standard M6 (Canadian model, but essentially the same as US). I have not experienced any untoward reliablity problems. I went with stock setup on the brakes and control arm bushings, and they seem to be OK for road use (so far anyway).

Find Rod's post below to be very informative, and the brake upgrade is something to consider if the car you want to purchase needs brake service anyway. I would not consider this essential for reliable road use in the short term though.

... Any and all advice would be helpful before I invest.I love the looks and have read nothing but good things about the performance,but I dont want to buy something thats going to become a headache. Thanks
