most likely the thermal reactors were removed, and poss. the head upgraded if it had cracked, if they are not there, thats good, not needed even in strict emmisions control, this car will pass.

Mine is tested in NY which is as bad as Cali with emmisions and with no thermos, no catalytic, it will pass easily so don't let that turn you away

Make sure windows work, but if rears don't thats very common. sometimes just the switches themselves.

also check for rust on read shock towers(pull plastic away, there should be some, just not a lot! as well as inside engine bay just above the front tires.

the car will be slow off the line, but should be strong as it gets into the high rpms all the way to at least 5500rpm. Wind it out by flooring it and see how bad it lets out smoke at top of rpm range. a lil is ok, mine does that but I also have nearly 400,000 miles on original engine with no bottom end work! Shes still highly reliable! Hasn't seen the "doctor" in 1 1/2yrs!

Bowed out tires are normal so dont worry unless rear end bottoms out on dips bumps, then need new struts.

Look at $2500-$4000 dep. on shape
