Bought a 1983 633 (archive)

Recently purchased a 1983 633csi with 100k miles. The car is a beautiful black with a recardo type seats in great condition. I had my mechanic check it out before I bought it and he told me it needed valve stems- the plugs were oil fouled and lower control bushings and front struts. He also told me that he could change the valve stems for about $375 w/o removing the head. Can that be done? Also, should I replace the trust bushings with BMW 750i ones while I am at it. Thanks in advance for your responses.
