Also looking for an '84 633 owners manual for some reason I bought mine with an '85 635 manual. If anyone has an extra or would know where I could find one - it would be much appreciated.

Don't just replace the bushings, replace them with urathane bushings, available from BMP, and probably other aftermarket repalcement shops. These will properly align your alternator with no ill effects from reving the motor. Plus they will last far longer than the rubber ones you took out, maybe longer than alot of other parts on your sixer!

I went through this just last week. You need to replace the upper and lower rubber bushes. The get oil contaminated after a period of time which makes the alternator SOFT on its mounts. After re -mounting it make sure you reconnect the earth strap solidly. If it looks a bit sad, replace it because it is your ONLY earthing point.
