Hello all,

I don't know your experience at Harriman State Park, but here's some info. I've been up there numerous times, along with a good friend, and have figured out all the good roads. (We even know that there is a mistake in the Roundel).

9-10 AM is too early because it'll be cold and too wet in the morning (dew and such). Also, it will be pretty slippery with the fallen leaves. In the afternoon, there won't much moisture.

I suggest you meet up after lunch about 2 PM. A good meeting place will be off of exit 16 of the Palisades. Here are directions:

From Palisades Pkwy north or south:
Take exit 16.
You will be on Lake Welch Pkwy.
There will be a fork in the road.
Stay right at the fork and follow signs for Tiorati Brook Road.
This is also known as Cedar Pond Road for those who want to look it up on a map.
After the fork you will go through some twisty roads and come to a clearing on your right (this lasts about 1/2 miles).
This will be the first clearing you will see and it is gravel. If you come to a second clearing also on the right you have gone too far.

From 17 Northbound:
Take 17 north until the light where 17 and 17A split.
Take a left at that light which leads you up to a stop sign.
Take a right at the stop sign onto Route 106 (eastbound) which then crosses back over 17 on a bridge.
Continue on this road (for a long while) until you reach a circle (aka roundabout).
At the circle, take the third exit (3/4 of the way around).
You should now be on Seven Lakes Drive heading north.
Take Seven Lakes Drive until you reach a second circle. Take the first exit or 1/4 of the way around. You will now be on Tiorati Brook Road.
Follow this road past the lake on your right.
You will come to a bridge that you will cross and there will be a long left hand turn.
Once you have gone through this start looking for the first clearing on your left. Do not enter this one.
Proceed down to the second clearing on your left and you will be there.

The clearings are not camp sights, they are directly off the roadside and have large entrances. They are gravel, and are fine for low cars. Trust me.

Chris

Chris Burdett, Michael and BMB thinks that this is a good place to meet for everyone on 11/25.

I am available as well. To those interested, please post if you're coming.

I think it'll be great for everyone. We can do it around
9-10am???

Let us know 6ers, thanks.
