I'm in the process of rebuilding a mid 82 Euro. The instrument cluster is out, the ventilation controls and the console is out. How much more work will it take to remove the dash? What is involved?
How much is a new dashboard and how much can I expect to pay for a used one (obviously one without any cracks).
Where is a good source for these and does anyone have a dash they would like to sell?

***I would not bother with a vinyl dash cover, its a waste of time and money. Doesn't sound like you would anyway - good! I bought a used dash from the guys at Bimmerworld, looks like new - no cracks, good finish - for $150. It cost more in labor to get it installed, but it was worth it. I do not know if there would be any differences between the Euro and US model, especially since you're dealing with the e24 chassis. If you have the Mobile Tradition parts CD, you could see if the #s match between the two. Good luck!
