M635 interior light not working (archive)

My interior lights only work with the switch on the light itself.I changed the door switch and can hear the relay click when I move the door switch. I once read here that there is a delay on this car for the interior lights.Mine have never worked. Is there another component that I'm missing? Thanks. Dan in NJ
