I just refinished mine, using chrome spray paint. It came out fine, and I am certainly pleased with the price (about $4.00). I did take the units out of the car to paint them (I heard of others who did them in place, but I would worry about overspray). The whole task was relatively easy; only problem is I found that the metal under the chrome surround strip has rusted, and now I'm looking for replacements, but apparently BMW only sells this as part of the whole lens assembly -- which I don't need, having just refinished mine!
Has anyone had success in redoing the reflective lenses on their taillights?
