Ron,
Check the tighteness and integrity of the connection where the antenna lead plugs into the radio. If that doesn't help, the multiplex chip in the radio itself may have failed (not too likely). If all else fails, limit your driving to the vacinity of radio transmission towers.

I recently changed the head unit in my '84 633 from a JVC CD/tuner to a Blaupunkt "Honolulu" CD/tuner. My radio reception dropped badly. The antenna seemed to fit snugly enough. Has anyone else had a problem with Blaupunkt in this way?
