I think it's a wonderful idea and I may do the same some day. Just buy the engine complete with Motronic and engine wiring. I don't know that your trans won't bolt up, but if that's the case get the trans and belhousing together. Start your search at Bimmerworld
Couple of questions:
1) Is this possible?
2) Where would I find the parts (engine) to do this?
3) I know that this would cost an arm and a leg... but really how much would it all cost?

This is a sort of thing that would be happening down the road, I just bought a 633 and it is still running strong... but someday down the line it is going to give out, I just want to know my options!
