As I recall, they weigh 23 lbs. each, a tad on the heavy side. Also, he hit a fairly small pothole, and the front right wheel bent. I am not saying this was TSW's fault, but I think that since they are cast, rather than forged, the TSW wheels are just not sturdy enough for a 3500lb. car.

Another factor to consider is the type of suspension you run. If your car has HD or Sport Bilsteins, I'd stray from a cast 17". There is just not enough shock-absorbtion in a 45 profile tire to retard wheel damage over larger bumps/ small potholes, especially with a set of springs and sport shocks.

Tire Rack is running a special on BBS this month. The 17" BBS wheels (one piece) are about 17.9 lbs. LIGHT!!! They are also FORGED, which makes them several times stronger than cast rims!

Go with a FORGED rim; that's what came on your BMW.
