If you run low boost you shouldn't have a problem. If you want to start running higher boost, run ARP or Raceware head studs and get yourself some forged pistons. I would look into doing it personally because a low boost turbo doesn't have as much lag as a high boost low compression turbo.

The turbo head is designed to work on a low compression block. I have a book on the earlier turbo and it was 7:1. The later motor may have been 8:1 but I really don't know. The euro block uses piston that are around 10:1. If you put the turbo head and turbine onto a 10:1 bottom end. You might have a time bomb, unless you are planning on replacing the pistons with the low compression dish pistons from an U.S spec 735.

Anyone know if 85 745i head and turbo can be installed on 85 euro 635 or does the low compression 745 involve more than just the head. Thanks! Matt LasVegas
