I have posted several times regarding the ease of removing ball joints and tie rods (without damage to the joint OR the boot) using a "Fulcrum Type" separator and have each time received a number of requests for a description of the tool and its manufacturer.

The link below will take you to a photo album where I posted pictures of the tool(Auto Repair Tools). Eventually I'll post shots of other useful tools I've come across that I especially like.

By comparing the tool to the BMW Roundel, you can get an idea of the actual size.
