I've resolved the problem. the linkage end, rather than having female spline grooves to mate with the motor's make spline grooves actually makes it's on grooves when pressed on the motor spline. motor spline is a much harder material than the linkage material which is a softer metal.

P.S. I disassembled the wiper motor and cleaned with electrical cleaner - sprayed in an entire can, lubricated all the wiper linkage joints with WD-40 and the problem of having a jerking action on the wipers and of stopping at odd locations has been entirely resolved.

I highly recommend cleaning the motor.
