Were these an option on the 88's? I have an 88 635 and don't have the wipers...can one add them easily?

I think it depends on the country of the cars origin. Certainly the UK cars came with the wipers as standard from 1987 when the Highline specification was introduced.

I think it is possible to retrofit the wipers. You will need the wipers, washer pump, control units and wiring. All the necessary cut-outs and and fixtures are already on the car. The wipers operate automatically when the headlights are on the windscreen washers are activated.
