This only happens on the first start when very cold or sometimes on an overnight start. It will always start on the second attempt. This is an automatic 3.3l

I have a rebuilt starter with new solonoid (rebuilt due to the same reason)

I have had the following opinions:

1) poor rebuild
2) power or grounding issue
3) electrical issue thru ignition

I understand that there is no relay for the starting system.

Does anyone have experience with areas where I may be losing volts in the cicuit?

I checked the terminals on the starter and battery. I believe the circuit goes thru the ignition and key assembly as well.

Thanks in advance for suggestions,

Don

I have the same problem for years, changed the starter (factory remftr) and the problem still there. I'm suspecting the ignition switch, when the starter grinds if I move the key around the problem goes away????
