First, I guess, what voltage are they? Also, are they required or can the board run solely off of car power, ie., if the NiCad battery terminals are jumped together to complete the circuit? I assume this would ccause loss of memory to the SI but would the guages operate? Thanks,


There is a company in Florida called PROGRAMA 800 668-8843 that makes a replacement si board that works without the batteries, I installed one in my 83 633, 6 months ago and have not experienced any adverse effects.
