Re: Opinions needed on changing interior colour (archive)

I'm rebuilding an 82 Euro, green opal exterior with brown interior. The brown leather Recaro's are beat up and will require new leather (just had the estimate today). I don't like the colour and want to change all the brown leather to black. I tend to flip flop on my decision. As a purest, the car should be rebuilt to original or as close as possible but I will be driving this car for a while and prefer black. If you had the choice, what would you do?
If the colour is changed, how much will it effect resale value?
The carpets are also brown plus a few trim items: the console, rear head rest covers, speaker covers, etc. Over time, I'll either replace these parts in black with either used or new parts or paint over with black.

Do a good job and die the leather a color you like and enjoy. The real $$ affect will not be significant ... unless you die it orange or somthing really strange.
