I have a 1988 635 and installed new BMW OEM wheels that were for the M5. They are 16" x 7 1/2", part #36112225518 @ $444.00 each, including freight from All BMW Parts. I used Michelin Pilots, XGTZ4, 225/50/16. The wheels look very similar to the photo that you posted, but the detail does not really show up. The M5 wheels were the closest to the original basket weave that were offered as a option on the car that I could locate in a non-metric size. The wheels require no spacers and there are no clearance or rubbing problems. And yes, the wheels look fantastic on the the car. I can't comment on if the 16 x8 wheels the you are considering will fit the car, I just wanted to give you the benefit of my experience with the 16 x 7 1/2.
I recently purchased a 1989 635CSI with original wheels. I need to know if I can substitute 16x8 BMW wheels from a 5 series on my car. The part number according to bmwwheels.com is 182 277. Basically I'm trying to find 16x8 BBS style/look wheels. I've attached a link to the picture of the rims I'm thinking of purchasing. Thanks in advance for your input.
