79 633 has been running rich for months, now recently will start to lose power until I floor it, where it will cough and sputter and finally backfire a little and drive normal again. Also will not idle below 1600. Any help would be appreciated, or any links to already posted info would be great. Thanks.

Running rich, hi idle, may be the result of a significant vacum leak(s). Have you switched any vac lines recently, or found a disconnected vac line and connected it? I went down this road on my 78.
