You can determine by taking out the two phillips head screws at the bottom corners and this will allow you to pull it away enough (without taking loose the seatback latching handle) to reach up in and pull away a corner to see. The only way I could determine for sure that the sport seats I used to have had been recovered with vinyl was to check the backing of the fabric.
