Listening to Pat Goss (big time mechanic in Maryland), he says to make lots of short trips with your car after adding injector cleaner to the tank. His reasoning is thus: The injector cleaner needs to soak into deposits to loosen them, and with a hot engine this doesn't occur. I think that running at high rpms could help after running a tank on short trips only, however.

You know, the kind you pour in the gas tank? Good, bad, or a waste of time and money? Thanks!

May be good if you putt around town a lot. Best in my experience Chevron Techroline. Give her a good high speed (within reason) run on the freeway.
