I put a Conforti chip in my '87 M6 and it did make an improvement: smoother idle and better acceleration. However, if you search the archives, or the internet, I think you'll find that someone did a quantitative test of chips from different vendors. Based upon previous posts on this board, I think it is safe to conclude that the consensus is in favor of chip upgrades.
