'82 633CSI...should I buy? (archive)

For the last couple of years, I have enjoyed my E21 (yeah, yeah, I know...but it's a kick to drive), but have recently wanted to step up to a big six. I have found an '82 633CSI, 5 speed, black, 200K miles on it. The body is in very good shape, dash isn't cracked, engine starts and seems to run okay.

Are there any particular pitfalls to avoid with this car? it's speedometer currently isn't working and the drivers side electric window lift is innoperative. I can get this car for relatively cheap ($1800 US) and want to get some opinions on if this would be a good candidate for fixing up, I have about $3500 total to spend. Or would be better off buying a Big Coupe with those items already working?

All opinions appreciated...
