I can't compare the sixer to any other BMW because my '81 633 is my first Bimmer ever. I have always owned an American car, or when necessity dictated, a Japanese import. The sixer was bought because my '87 Delta 88 transmission was going south for the second time. I was sick and tired of all the problems associated with front wheel drive cars. I wanted a rwd, manual transmission auto that got fairly decent mileage. A friend turned me toward the sixer. He said it was big enough for a tall guy, and besides, since I'm german I should drive a german car!
The 633 is a pure joy to drive. The car handles like a slot car; you point it where you want it to go and it smoothely obeys your command. The drive train is as reliable as a swiss watch. Let me make this small caveat; any vehicle needs regular attention and periodic maintenance and the sixer is no different, but overall it delivers better reliability than most of the U.S. built vehicles I've owned. If an owner takes care of his/her sixer it will return that owner with miles and miles of smiles. The car is a beautiful melding of sports car and luxury tourer. Slipping behind the wheel and taking my place in the comfortable leather seat is the beginning of a pleasurable driving experience. It doesn't matter if I'm going to the store or taking a long trip, the sixer satisfies me every time. I never knew a twenty year old car could make me so happy. My 633 is not a concours example, but a daily driver with imperfections that give me something to fix as funds become available. Most mechanical pieces are readily available which is remarkable for such an old car. I know I will be keeping this car for quite some time!

Can't wait to see the responses from around the world. Ok...go for it! Have fun and I'm looking forward to your responses! Happy motoring!
