while this MAY have been one instance where it would not have done any good being it was a head on into the wall situation of 185-0 in a fraction of a second, there is at least a far better chance of survival with it.

and to think Stewarts incredible airial crash resulted in little more than bruises and Earnhart being only half a lap from the checkered flag, it puts a lot into perspective.

A sad day for all of motorsports no matter your prefernce of type.

If NASCAR has a concience, they will mandate the HANS system before the next race.
