I can't agree with the "Just replace it", theory on the SLS. If you remove the SLS because you don't understand how to troubleshoot & repair it, what you are left with is an overpriced M635i. The SLS is the single biggest difference between the 2 models.

There was a very clear write up in one of the M Register issues on how to isolate an SLS failure & fix it. Usually it's something very simple like an accumulator, very seldom is it the pump. If you are interested, I'd be happy to help you get your hands on a copy. If you are an M Register member, you can go to the source.

Some people who have TII's (like me) also put carburators on them (not like me) because they don't understand how to troubleshoot the Kuglefischer fuel injection system.

There's no way that either system's replacement can compete overall with the original design! I didn't settle for this when I bought my ///M6. I had to have the original equipment. When it fails, I will just fix it, following this proven troubleshooting & repair method.
