SLS system diagnosis (archive)

I am trying to determine if my SLS has finally gone "kaput".
While I was driving the other day, on a very flat and straight, I felt as if my M6 was on the end of a YO-YO string. The car never settled, just kept bouncing.

Can someone please give me some advice. I am itching to swap out this system, but will not do it until it has completely failed. My car has only 73K pampered miles.

If anyone has any reccommendations on a replacement system (non SLS), which would not lower the car anymore, I would greatly appreciate it.
