Thanks to all you guys! I'm writing all this down!

Hi gang.
I'm hoping for some insight from you all. Tonight my M6 died on the freeway...just a sudden loss of power, followed shortly by the engine dying. After having the car towed home, i tried starting it again just for kicks. The car immediately started and idled normally. The car had run just fine up until the moment it died, no clues of any kind. Is it the ECU? Any and all comments and/or experiences are appreciated.

Reads like a Main Relay failure, which is a common failure. The main relay sources 12 volts to the DME, injectors and fuel pump relay coil from seperate contacts. The contact that goes to the injectors and fuel pump relay coil fails and the engine just quits. The engine will often restart as if nothing had happened!! On the M6 the main relay is located inside the passenger over the glove compartment. You will need to remove the black plastic panel over the glove compartment. The silver relay is the main the orange relay is the fuel pump.
