I would have it fix properly and have the rest of the car looked-at by a good body shop. If it is really the only spot, you are in much better shape than me. Here in Canada, it is almost unavoidable on a multi years car. We are probably much tolerant to rust that you down there, even thaoug we hate it too! Dont let that spot ruin your appreciation of your car. You will forget it fast once fixed.

Hi everybody:

Today I found a rust spot on my 1988 635csi. It is located on the top of the rear right fender right on the lip. It is the only spot of rust in the whole car and I thought it was a stone ship until I started playing with it and it went through the metal. I cleaned it up and took all the rust out and the whole is now about 1/2" by 1/4". After looking throughout the car for other possible spots I started thinking about fixing it but I don't want to start seeing rust poping out all over the place. The car is very good shape and it has a new suspension, transmission, 17" wheels and more. Is it worth to fix it or should I sell it? This thing is really killing me now.
Please, I need your opinion on this one. I really do.
