I had this when I first got my car - never did find it - has gone away now. Check the heater hoses under the inlet manifold - they can tuch the head. Also make sure you don't have an air lock in the cooling system.

Hi,

I just did a Cyinder Head R&R, and now there is a strong "hot rubber" or "burning rubber" smell under the hood. It seems to be coming from the Exhaust Manifold side. The engine is running fine, has no leaks, nothing is touching the exhaust manifolds, all belts are snug, etc...

Could it be the new exhaust manifold gaskets getting "broken in?, some other gasket related "burn-in" smell? I need some advise...
